About Alliston & Area Physician Recruitment Committee
The Alliston & Area Physician Recruitment Committee consists of volunteers from four area municipalities of Adjala-Tosorontio, Essa, Innisfil, and New Tecumseth working in cooperation with Stevenson Memorial Hospital. The committee helps recruit physicians to our area as well as encourage retention in our area.
Alliston & Area is a diverse community served by Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH) which has been the pride and joy of area residents for over 75 years. Alliston has been designated as a centre for growth by the provincial government and the expanding population will require physicians and medical facilities. The hospital has received funding from the Ministry of Health to proceed with stage 2 of redevelopment planning to expand and modernize the facility.
